Scars
Things I will never get tired of: watching Tronzler lift dudes with one hand like they were a half-empty sack of flour.

I just want to know what the hell HAPPENED. What the hell combination of buried personality issues + possible pre-fuckery from Clu + viral trap hidden in Tronzler’s shiny disc-upgrady thingy got triggered to make him that way.IDEK
Personally I think, that a small flashback could make everything better.
In fact, I’m SURE, that Tron hides something really important again.
Nothing happens from no reason, and if Cyrus is so incredibly angry and hysteric about “SAY ME I’M BETTER THAN YOU”, maybe something in how did Tron act with him was really NOT. GOOD.
Remember how Tronzler acts to Beck sometimes. Not as a friend or a good teacher, but as grumpy, omniscient dick (even a bit selfish sometimes).
No anger, especially that strong, could grow from nothing, and even Tron does admit, that Cyrus was his failure, but he always turns the guilt back and make people look guilty. When he told a word about Cyrus, he said: “He was never worthy of my name and suit, all what mattered to him was bringing about the end of everything we know”. And I’m seriously NOT A BELIEVER of the version, that Cyrus was always the same. That he was a destroyer all the time, and that he saved Tron for only reason - to destroy the Grid.
C’mon, that cute, small guard with a great heart always wanted to kill everybody and explose the whole System?
Srsly, something happened to him. Something meaning, something painful. Tron never say what was it, maybe that’s because he wants to look shiny as always. But it was obviously something related to the free will, to the fact, which helped Cyrus to understand, that he is not free, he is always bonded, and everyone on the Grid is.
Poor baby.
Hmm. I’d say the most obvious source of lessons like “we’re not free and we’ll never BE free” might be Tron(zler) himself… perhaps Cyrus knows more about what’s happening to Tron than Tron himself does. :3
…which would totally explain why Tron considers Cyrus to be “one of his mistakes” and completely refuses to talk about it. Headcanon accepted.
The sync was a pain to get right… and I have the feeling tumblr’s breaking the crap out of it on other people’s ends.

I am saving that “Oh yes. I MAD.” one for a reaction gif.
Make your own captions.
(Since no one’s gone with the obvious yet:)
“It’s just… sometimes I think you’re not even listening. All this time, and what have we done? Crashed a couple of tanks? Nothing’s changing for the programs out there, Tron; there’s more guards on the streets every day and anybody who steps out of line gets sent to the Games….”
“You have to expect casualties, Beck.” Tron’s voice was curt. “We’re fighting a war.”
“Pretty one-sided for a war.”
The young program’s reflection slumped a little further on the edge of the screen Tron had been watching. He’d sounded like this more frequently lately — defiant still, still with the fire in him that had roused Tron to take another recruit against his better judgment, but bewildered, hampered, sometimes lost. Turn by turn, the long defeat — no, the long fight; it still was, it had to be a fight — was taking its toll.
Tron didn’t glance at his own reflection. His lips had pulled outward again, the scar twinging at the side of his face, a lightless, reflexive expression that he was tired of trying to stop. Why should he, anyhow? It wasn’t actually a smile if he didn’t really mean it to be.
“Try to have patience, Beck,” he said softly, the words coming unbidden but sounding good — sounding right. “Soon you’ll understand.”
Everyone would understand soon.
He could feel it.

I imagine it goes without saying that I 100% approve of this ficlet <3
Ahh, Tron: Uprising. I’ll be the first to admit, I was snarking about it months before it ever came out, calling it Tron: The Clone Wars and grousing about how its entire premise made NONE OF THE SENSE. My attitude was not helped when the show finally came out and the first several episodes were…let’s call it uneven, at best. Lazy writing, continuity derp, shoddy worldbuilding and problematic character issues…that first half of the season was a mess, and I sat at my computer jadedly muttering to myself about wasted potential.
I wasn’t ready to give up altogether, though, because there WERE good moments, gems in the rough shining through the ballast, and in an effort to make myself feel better about the direction the show seemed to be weaving drunkenly in, I concocted a theory in which I posited the whole plot was a long Xanatos (Gambit? Roulette? Game of Speed Chess?) orchestrated by Clu, and that Tronzler has been compromised all along. How else to explain his utter fail at training Beck and actually organizing an effective Uprising?
Imagine my surprise and utter delight when the second half of the season happened and not only did the show take an enormous quality leap in just about every direction, but every episode my half-baked theory increasingly appeared to be 100% correct.
Don’t believe me? As they say on CSI, let’s follow the evidence.

(RATED S FOR SPOILERS up to and including the most recent episodes below the cut. BE YE WARNED)
Just gonna shine my horrible person trophy for a while. Some Other Beginning’s End
The hideout was silent, dark, completely powered-down save for the faint ghost-images of the emergency lights when Beck finally managed to roll in.
God bless you, Kat, for giving us the ending that we’ll likely never get from the actual show. This is fantastic.
Ruined
For now we stand alone
The world is lost and blown
And we are flesh and blood disintegrate
With no more to hate
——————————
“We are the same,” the Virus whispers. “We are ruined.”
The only desire left within Abraxas—death—has been denied him by his very nature. Always he reforms, from viral remnants in the colonies he ravaged, from the black depths of the Sea itself, and nothing Clu’s best men or Abraxas himself have tried can keep him at bay for long. Clu truly made him perfect, and the thought makes him laugh and scream all at once.
For a time he remained in the dark desert of the Outlands, haunting the edges of the Sea, feeding on any stray Programs unfortunate enough to wander his way. One thing, however, continues to draw him back to the City: a connection, twisted and shattered and ruined, but seemingly as stubborn and determined as the both of them had once been, a thousand thousand cycles ago.
It’s the same, mostly, every time. Abraxas cannot infect the Security Program. His root coding simply will not allow it. At first this fact enraged him, then fascinated him. Tron’s touch burns him, far worse than the pain that already consumes him, and his own touch is anathema and repulsive to Tron’s very being…but he’s losing that, anyway, more and more every day, and so they make contact regardless.
Sometimes Tron calls Abraxas by his name; sometimes by the other, the dead one. No one calls Tron by his true name anymore but Abraxas.
Eventually, Tron stops speaking altogether, and that’s fine, too.

Tron Legacy - Sam’s butt will kill you by ~SuperKusoKao
I never even noticed that design when I was watching the movie, but now it’s all I’ll ever be seeing.
And Tronzler’s butt looks like a roaring monster.^^
DYING

And then there’s Anon’s sad frog butt. It’s not easy being Anon :(

How I wanted Legacy to end, because I am a horrible person and intent on crushing my own heart.
Have I professed my undying love for you recently, Winzler? Because god damn if this doesn’t hit a an entire NASA console’s worth of my buttons.

Oooo pretty :D
More fic. Set some time after the other two and before Legacy.
It wasn’t a conscious habit of Rinzler’s, tapping the blade of an identity disc on the ground when he landed. It had been a leftover from Tron, a trait that had him placing his hand on the ground to steady himself. It had been a tell then, and it was a tell now. If anyone could actually read it, it would say, Hit me now, while I’ve not got the balance I should. The tap was always over before anyone could take advantage of those precious few picocycles where he wasn’t balanced.
No program had figured the tap out.
…I dig it. Especially the implication that it might still be Tron trying to communicate from inside as best he can, giving the poor redshirts who end up in the Games a tiny chance to survive…
I love the timing and the storytelling in this fanvid. Bonus points for starting with Alan (and the super-dramatic music that accompanies)!

Bringing this one back too, because of reasons.
After (well, amid — you didn’t think it was going to stop, did you? :3) all the post-ElecTRONica angst, Tron and Alan decided to remind everyone who really hold all the feels in this franchise by going camping in the Outlands.~
Tronblr, I have something of a challenge for you: COLOR THIS SKETCH. :D I’ve done so, and would like to see everyone’s interpretation before posting it.
Tron coloring book, anyone?
Awwww Alan looks all snug and comfortable with Tron there to watch over him.
And oh man, I can’t wait to get home properly. The ElecTRONica trip TOTALLY revived my mojo and I am wild to get back to writing again.
